Sona is not alone. She is fiercely protected by her elder brother, Raghuveer Singh, played by the formidable Sonu Sood. Raghuveer is a hardworking, self-made man who has dedicated his life to caring for his sister after their mother's death. When Ram shows up to claim Sona's hand, Raghuveer is not impressed. He sees Ram as a spoiled, irresponsible city boy and challenges him to prove his worth by working on the farm and producing more seed on their fields. If he succeeds, he wins Sona's hand; if he fails, he must leave and never return. Thus begins Ram's journey of transformation, as he abandons his privileged life to win the approval of his beloved's protective brother and, in the process, discovers his own strength and integrity. The film is a remake of director Prabhu Deva's own successful Telugu film, Nuvvostanante Nenoddantana .
