Set in the late 18th century during the early stages of the British Raj, the film tells the story of twin brothers separated at birth. The story begins with the royal priest Rajguru attempting to kill the twin children of the king to seize the throne. The newborns survive but are separated and raised in vastly different environments. One brother grows up to be Pulikesi XXIII, a spoiled and dim-witted king who becomes a puppet of his manipulative chief minister. The other brother, Ukkiraputhiran, grows up as a wise and patriotic commoner determined to save his land and his brother from the clutches of tyranny. The plot thickens when their paths inevitably cross, leading to a series of comedic and dramatic confrontations. The film blends sharp political satire, slapstick humor, and social commentary, delivering a message about governance and identity within a vibrant historical setting.
