Note: This information is generally valid for 58mm POS receipt printers in early 2026.

After installing the driver, you should verify that the computer can communicate successfully with the printer.

Plug the printer into your computer via USB and turn it on.

A: Yes. Use sudo apt-get install printer-driver-escpos . Then add printer via CUPS (localhost:631) using “Generic ESC/POS 58mm printer” driver.

It prints garbled symbols or tiny font. Fix: You are using the wrong driver. Uninstall it and reinstall the 64-bit version if you have Windows 11. Also, in Printer Properties, set the Paper Size to 58mm x 297mm (or 58 x 200).
