Bodil Bjarta Joensen was born on September 25, 1944, in the small Danish village of Hundige, near Copenhagen. Her early life was marked by severe psychological trauma and a deeply dysfunctional family environment. Raised by a devout Christian mother who was often physically and violently abusive, Joensen found little affection at home. At the age of 12, after a terrifying incident at a railway station in which her mother believed she had been raped, Joensen was beaten and blamed by her mother. It was in that moment of despair that she made a shocking vow: she told her mother that when she grew up, she would have sex with boars, a declaration that she recalled left her mother "so shocked, she thought I was allied to the Devil".

Bootleggers saw a lucrative opportunity and began importing increasingly extreme material from countries like Denmark, where pornography had been fully legal since 1969, into the more restrictive environment of the UK.
