The film follows Lemuel Gulliver (Jack Black), a depressed mailroom clerk at a New York City newspaper. After a decade in a dead-end job, and lacking the courage to voice his affection for the beautiful travel journalist Darcy Silverman (Amanda Peet), Gulliver is at a dead end.
