Bruce Nolan (Jim Carrey) is a Buffalo, New York, TV reporter who is unhappy with his life. He complains about everything—his job, his anchor rival Evan Baxter (Steve Carell), and his loving girlfriend Grace (Jennifer Aniston). When he fails to get a promotion, Bruce has a breakdown, blaming God for all his troubles.
