Replicating the 2JZ in the digital realm is surprisingly difficult. Unlike a cross-plane V8 which has a distinct, rhythmic burble, the 2JZ possesses a linear, high-pitched scream when stock, and a chaotic, fluttering roar when fitted with a large single turbo (often a BorgWarner S300 series).
