Ghost at School , known in Japan as Gakkou no Kaidan (学校の怪談), is a horror anime series produced by the legendary Studio Pierrot ( Naruto , Bleach ) and Aniplex. The 20-episode series aired in Japan from October 2000 to March 2001. The story follows the Miyanoshita siblings, Satsuki and Keiichiro, who move to their late mother's hometown. They soon discover that their new school's abandoned building is a haven for ghosts that their mother had sealed away years ago. When the seals are accidentally broken, the siblings and their friends—the rational Hajime, the paranormal-obsessed Leo, and the practical Momoko—must use their mother's old notebook to reseal the spirits. Adding a unique twist to the ghost-hunting formula is Amanojaku, a mischievous demon who gets accidentally sealed into the body of their pet cat, Kaya.
